Hogg Named Daktronics South Region Player of the Year; Singlar Second Team

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-  The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team keeps piling on the awards as the season draws to an end, with juniors Kenny Hogg and Evan Singlar earning Daktronics Division II All-South Region honors. Hogg was named the 2012 Player of the Year in the South Region, while Singlar was selected to the Second Team.

This is the first time that a PBA student-athlete has been chosen as the Regional Player of the Year since joining the NCAA. Hogg led all of NCAA Division II in regular season goals with 25, which is four more than the second-best in the country and 14 better than the next best in the South Region. He also leads the country in goals per match with 1.37, total points with 59, and points per match with 3.11. The junior from Irvine, Scotland, was also selected for Daktronics First Team honors.

Singlar, a junior from Currituck, N.C., was named second team All-Region. Evan ended the season on a hot streak, finishing the final four regular season matches with five goals and five assists. The hot streak continued into the NCCAA South Region Tournament, where Singlar tallied three goals and two assists to lead PBA to the National Tournament.
