Faith Warren Competes at NCAA Cross Country Championship

JOPLIN, Mo.- The Sailfish women’s cross country team sent their second-ever competitor to the NCAA National Championship on Saturday with senior Faith Warren claiming a 94th place finish and a 6,000 meter time of 22:11.8 as she closes her remarkable four-year journey as a Sailfish. Warren and the rest of the NCAA Division II field competed at the Missouri Southern State University Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri.
Warren joins teammate Meghan Gilmore as the only two Palm Beach Atlantic runners to make it all the way to the NCAA National Championship as the team continues to build their program.
Alicia Nelson of Adams State University would claim the day’s top time of 20:03.3 to finish just over nine seconds ahead of second-place Susan Tanui of Alaska Anchorage University who crossed the finish line at 20:12.6 who held a two second lead on Nelson at the halfway point.
Grand Valley State University claimed the team Championship with 101 points to edge Augustana (S.D) University with 104 points.
The University of Tampa (559 points) and Nova Southeastern University (829 points) finished 25th and 29th in the team scoring to represent the NCAA South Region.
