WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team shook off any potential rust from having a few weeks off from game action on Friday morning by defeating Truett McConnell College in the semi-finals of the NCCAA Regional Tournament being held at Magic Jack Field. The Fish utilized four first-half goals to dismantle the Bears while adding in another in the second period for a 5-0 win.

The Sailfish (12-4-1) will now take on Emmanuel (Ga.) College on Saturday at 12:30 pm for the NCCAA South Region Championship as EC defeated Southeastern (Fla.) University in the other semi-final match on Friday by a 2-1 score.

Friday’s contest proved little challenge to the Sailfish as they outshot the Bears 19-3 including a 12-2 mark in the first-half. PBA also totaled a 9-1 lead in corner kicks as they controlled possession throughout.

Freshman Kasey Wyer got the Fish on the board as one of five different PBA scorers in the match as her unassisted strike came in just the third minute of the contest.

Sophomore Karoline Harnes added her fourth goal of the campaign just three minutes later as she stepped up to take a PBA penalty kick. Martha Tabaoas delivered on a header in the 15th minute on a Wyer assist from a corner kick to give the Fish a comfortable 3-0 lead.

Laura Geisler added on the fourth goal of the half on a beautiful exchange between her and freshman Sienna Brooks. Brooks provided the assist on a long cross with Geisler running into the box to deliver a sharp strike with a header.

Senior Juliet Waller scored her team-leading ninth goal in the second-half to cap the PBA scoring.

Allison Fox produced the shutout, her ninth of the season, while stopping three shots in the win.
