AMERICUS, Ga. – The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish got back on their winning ways in high fashion Saturday afternoon, riding five first-half goals to down host Georgia Southwestern University 5-0 at Hurricane Field.

The Sailfish got great performances from juniors Kenny Hogg and Evan Singlar. Hogg netted two goals to bring his season tally to 22, which leads the NCAA Division II, while Singlar scored a goal and notched two assists to bring his season total to 16, good for second on the team.

PBA got on the board early thanks to Hogg’s first goal of the night in just the seventh minute of play.

Less than fifteen minutes later the Sailfish got another tally, this time from Singlar. With the goal today, Evan has scored in three consecutive matches.

The scoring barrage wasn’t done there. Junior Chris Karafilov scored his second goal of the season in the 27th minute to make it 3-0, and before the 30th minute could come around, Hogg added his second goal of the night.

Palm Beach Atlantic capped the scoring in the 39th minute when senior Charlie Hubbard scored his fourth goal of the campaign to make it 5-0.

Freshman keeper Austin Spagnola recorded his first career shutout, stopping all five shots sent his way. In total, the Sailfish outshot the Hurricanes overall 15-7, as well as on goal, 8-5. PBA and GSW each took four corner kicks, and the Sailfish were whistled for more fouls throughout the match, 11-7.

It’s a quick turnaround for Palm Beach Atlantic, having to travel to South Carolina to take on Chowan University tomorrow at 1 PM.
