AMERICUS, Ga.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s soccer came away with their first tie of the regular season on Saturday as they were unable to push across a score in two overtime periods against Georgia Southwestern University and had to settle for a draw. The tie puts Palm Beach Atlantic at a 8-4-1 record on the season as they wrap up their Fall break trip on Sunday in a match versus Chowan University.
The Sailfish will battle Chowan at 11 am tomorrow morning while wrapping up their regular season slate next week with road dates at Warner University and Ave Maria University.
Freshman Kasey Wyer would notch the only score of the day for PBA on Saturday as the Fish could not push past the Hurricanes (2-13-2).
Wyer’s goal came in the 41st minute of the first-half only to be followed up by a score from GSW’s Courtney Simpson in the 43rd minute to knot the score at the halftime break.
Despite outshooting their opponent by a 13-11 count while also registering a 12-3 lead in corner kick tries, it wouldn’t be enough to push past a game-winner.
Allison Fox went the distance in goal for PBA and posted eight saves.
