WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic dropped a heartbreaker to NSCAA No. 2 Lynn University on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, 1-0, at Magic Jack Field.

In the first half, Sailfish keeper Steven Bush came up with a pair of great saves that kept the Fighting Knights off the board. The back line of Branden Langenberg, Lewis Thompson, Chris Karafilov and James Kaim played sparkling defense all game, limiting the powerful Lynn offense to just nine total shots.

Unfortunately, the Knights’ defense was just as solid, only allowing six total PBA shot attempts, with only one on goal.

The games’ lone goal came in the 63rd minute off a corner kick. After it looked like Bush controlled the initial header, the relentless effort by Lynn finally found twine for the score. The Sailfish would battle back and come close on a few attempts, but in the end they came up short.

Palm Beach Atlantic has lost two straight and sees their season record fall to 9-3 overall. Lynn improves to 13-1 on the year.

PBA looks to keep their NCAA postseason hopes alive with another home match with Eckerd College at 2 PM on Saturday, October 20th as part of a double header with the PBA women’s squad.
