NEW ORLEANS, La.- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their week one regional rankings on Tuesday for the NCAA Division II season which included Palm Beach Atlantic sitting at No. 6 in the South Region. The Fish have moved up one spot since being ranked No. 7 in the preseason ranking released on August 28th.

The PBA women’s cross country team has competed in three races already this season and will have this weekend off from racing as they prepare for a September 28th date at the Invitational in Titusville, Florida.

The NCAA South Region is led by the University of Tampa at No. 1 followed by Nova Southeastern University and the University of West Florida at Nos. 2 and 3. Delta State University and Alabama-Huntsville round out the top five just ahead of PBA.

The team has been led early on by the strong running of its three seniors with Faith Warren, Katherine Harvey and Meghan Gilmore placing 1-3 on the team’s finish through the first three races.

Competing under second-year head coach Trish Butler, the ladies will look to make a strong showing as the season moves towards the latter stages including the NCAA South Regional to be  held in Huntsville, Alabama on November 3rd.
