WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Another hoops season is right around the corner as the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s basketball team will have a new look roster and coaching staff for the 2012-13 season. New head coach Carlos Palacios announced the upcoming season schedule on Tuesday with the campaign set to kickoff with two scrimmages and then the official start to the season on November 9th at Nova Southeastern University.

The team will host their first of 12 home contests on November 17th when they take on Rollins (Fla.) College at the Rubin Arena beginning with a tipoff of 5 pm.

Palm Beach Atlantic will play all nine members of the Sunshine State Conference this season including eight of the schools twice (home and home).

Beyond the home opener versus Rollins, the Fish will also host five other opponents during the first semester including the University of Tampa (Dec. 1), Florida Southern College (Dec. 8), Saint Leo University (Dec. 10), Shaw University (Dec. 17) and Cameron University (Dec. 18).

The Shaw University Lady Bears will visit West Palm Beach for the second straight season and are coming off a year in which they hoisted the NCAA Division II National Championship trophy. The Sailfish gave the Bears a true test last season by sending the game to overtime where Shaw eventually came out on top.

PBA will have one out-of-state trip when they take on Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia on November 25th while also participating in a holiday tournament hosted by Florida Tech on December 29-30.

The second semester sees six more opponents enter the friendly confines of the Rubin Arena to take on the Fish with the final game being February 5th at PBA will take on cross-town rival Northwood University at 7 pm.
