TIFFIN, Ohio- The Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) named four Palm Beach Atlantic baseball players on Friday to the All-ICAA teams with senior Travis Murray making the All-ICAA first-team while Justin Sizemore and Brooks Fleming earned a spot on the All-ICAA second-team. The honors for all three players are the first of their careers as they helped lead PBA to a 20-24 season.

The ICAA is composed of NCAA Division II schools that are not in a conference.  Baseball members are the University of Central Oklahoma, Lindenwood University, Malone University, Northeastern State University, Notre Dame College, Oakland City University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Salem International University and Urbana University.

A transfer from Pasco Hernando Community College and in his second season as the team’s starting catcher, Murray took a big leap forward with his play during his senior campaign. The Spring Hill, Florida native led the Fish with a .390 batting average and 60 hits including a team-best 13 doubles.

Spending a majority of the season as the team’s cleanup hitter, Murray finished with 21 runs batted in while scoring 26 runs. He also connected for one  homerun and six stolen bases.

Sizemore earns the All-ICAA second-team honor following a fantastic season as the team’s second-leading hitter and a reliable player at first-base. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native played four seasons in a PBA uniform while taking his game to new heights in 2012.

The left-handed hitting stroke of Sizemore took a big step for the Fish in his final season as he hit .363 in 41 games while finishing second on the team with 25 runs batted in. He also produced one homerun, two triples and six doubles among his 49 hits. He also added seven stolen bases and a team-best .451 on-base percentage thanks in part to his team-high 23 walks.

Fleming shook off an up-and-down freshman campaign in 2011 that was hampered by injury to give the Fish a reliable bat and solid defensive outfielder in 2012.

A sophomore from Martin County High School, Fleming hit .336, good for fourth on the team, while blasting three homeruns and driving in 23 runs. He also finished second to Murray with 11 doubles while scoring 16 runs. He also paced all PBA outfielders with six outfield assists, showing off his strong throwing arm from right-field.

Coach of the Year was Dax Leone of Central Oklahoma.  The Bronchos went 31-17 and won the ICAA improving from 24-23 in 2011.  Leone is 55-40 in two seasons at COU.

Player of the Year was Austin Rycroft of Central Oklahoma.  The infielder had 18 doubles, three triples and 19 home runs, scored 54 runs, drove in 63 runs and batted .389.  Rycroft is second in the country in total bases (151), fourth in home runs and home runs per game (0.40), fifth in slugging percentage (.839) and eighth in RBI’s and RBI’s per game (1.31).

Pitcher of the Year was Jared Messer of Malone.  He was 8-3 with seven complete games and four shutouts and struck out 68 batters for a 0.86 ERA in 73 innings.

Freshman of the Year went to Wade Rothermich of Lindenwood.  The outfielder had 10 doubles, five triples and two home runs, scored 50 runs, drove in 26 runs, stole 11 bases and batted .385.
