ATLANTA, Ga.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team showed little signs of any rust on Saturday as they defeated Morehouse College by the score of 8-1 as the Fish were competing in their first match since a March 28th showdown with St. Thomas University. The victory pushes PBA’s season record to 6-9.
All three doubles tandems for PBA won on Saturday with Morehouse providing the biggest challenge at No. 1-doubles as Luke Bolanos and Eric Wade were pushed to an 8-6 win.
Bolanos came back out strong at No. 1-singles as he defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-4. Giuseppe Guarnieri settled in at No. 2-singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win while Wade produced a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 3-singles.
Jaime Verd and Nick Hines closed out the PBA wins at No. 4 and No. 5-singles as Nicholas Coburn was the only victim of defeat for PBA as his No. 6-singles match was canceled because of a Coburn injury.
The Fish will be back to the courts on Monday, April 9th as they will battle Fort Valley State University at 12 pm in Fort Valley, Ga.
