Women's Tennis Dominates in Effort Against Clark Atlanta University

ATLANTA, Ga.- The Sailfish women’s tennis team began their long weekend trip to Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday with a dominating 9-0 win over Clark Atlanta University. The victory helps the Fish bounce back from their recent loss at Nova Southeastern University on Thursday while improving their overall record to 14-5 on the season.

The top two doubles pairings for the Fish produced 8-0 wins on Saturday while the third match was won by PBA by default.

Victoria Baca played in the No. 1-singles slot on Saturday with a 2-0 lead in the first set before an injury required her competition to retire.

Leydi Zora earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2-singles while Maria Jimenez stepped up into the No. 3-singles slot with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

Liddy Robinson continued the PBA streak with a 7-6, 7-5 win at No. 4-singles while the Fish were victorious by default in their final two singles pairings.

The Sailfish will travel to Carrollton, Georgia on Monday, April 9th to battle the University of West Georgia at 10 am.
