NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s cross country team put together a record-breaking season in 2011 under first-year head coach Trish Butler. The accomplishments of the team did not come only on the running course as the team was recently named to the All-Academic listing by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To receive this honor with the NCAA Division II ranks, a team must post a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 while tallying a team score at their respective NCAA Regional Championship.

The Sailfish were one of 124 institutions nationwide that represented 23 different conferences as they posted a team GPA of 3.38.

The University of Nebraska-Kearney and Gannon University led the nation with the highest reported cumulative team grade-point average of 3.78. Truman State University and the University of Central Missouri followed closely behind at 3.73.
