No. 5-Ranked Fighting Knights Flex Their Muscle in Shutout of Sailfish Men's Tennis

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Although they would compete well the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team would fall short on Tuesday afternoon in their attempt to knock off No. 5-ranked Lynn University as the Fighting Knights earned a 9-0 victory. One of the strongest programs in all of the NCAA Division II ranks, the Knights are now 3-0 while the Sailfish drop to 0-3.

Mick Lyons and Eric Wade put forth a strong effort at No. 1-doubles as they battled No. 4-ranked Amaury Van  Haelen and Vlad Cirla as LU’s duo earned an 8-4 win. Luke Bolanos and Giuseppe Guarnieri posted an 8-2 score versus No. 8-ranked Luca Pavanelli and Willi Wolfer.

Wolfer went to work at No. 1-singles for the Knights as he hold a No. 5-ranking nationally for men’s singles and came away with a 6-1, 6-2 win over PBA’s Bolanos.

No. 12-ranked Cirla and No. 49-ranked Luca Pavanelli led Lynn to strong victories at No. 2 and No. 3-singles.

Palm Beach Atlantic will be back to the court on Friday, February 17th when they battle Barry University in Miami Shores at 3 pm.
