GREENVILLE, S.C.- After a rough first game in Saturday’s double-header versus Warner University, the Sailfish baseball team turned to junior right-hander T.J. Harbuck to put out the fire. Not only did Harbuck respond with a solid outing in game two but he would also toss a near no-hitter in the process. For his efforts Harbuck has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 30th-Feb. 5th.
Taking home the honor for the first time in his career at PBA, Harbuck logged 6.1 innings of work on the hill on Saturday while accumulating six strikeouts over that time frame.
Walking just one batter, Harbuck did not allow a hit until a leadoff double in the top of the seventh inning. He would exit the game two batters later and hand the ball off to teammate Alejandro De Moya who closed out the game for his first save.
The Fish now stand at 3-1 to start the season with a big home series coming up this weekend when they host Flagler College on Friday and Saturday, February 9th and 10th. The series will be played at the Roger Dean Complex in Jupiter, Florida.
