MIAMI SHORES, Fla.- After some ups and downs in his first season at the helm of the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s basketball program, head coach Terry Primm will now look to the recruiting scene after the Fish dropped their final game of the season on Wednesday night at Barry University.
In a low-scoring battle throughout, the Bucs held off any scoring opportunities the Sailfish put together in the final 4:36 to cap a 45-42 victory.
With the first-half clock winding down, senior Fitzroy Anthony (Boca Raton, Fla.) came through with a steal from Buccaneers guard Karega Tucker and drained a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded pushing the Fish to a one point deficit entering the break at 22-21.
That would be as close as the Sailfish would get in the second half as Barry would advance their lead to as many as eight points while holding PBA to a 31.9% shooting percentage for the game while limiting them to a paltry 20% (5-25) three-point percentage.
Junior David Powell (Hollywood, Fla.) tallied team-high honors with 13 points but struggled to find his shot from beyond the arc as he connected on 2-of-10 shots from beyond the arc. Manny Lopez, a junior from San Juan, Puerto Rico, added in 10 points to round out the double-figures scoring totals for PBA.
In his final game in a PBA uniform, senior point guard Fitzroy Anthony chipped in five points, seven assists, and four steals.
