KISSIMMEE, Fla.- Although the Sailfish men’s soccer team did not come away with their second straight National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship this past weekend, they did put forth another solid effort in closing out yet another strong season. The Fish finished 1-1-1 at the NCCAA Championships while sophomore striker Kenny Hogg was named to the NCCAA All-Tournament team following the event.
Hogg earned the distinction following a memorable second match of the tournament as the No. 2-seeded Sailfish took on the No. 6-seed Grace College. Hogg tallied the first four goals of the match for PBA as they would go on to earn a 5-3 victory.
A native of Irvine, Scotland, Hogg closed out his first season wearing a PBA uniform with some memorable statistics and accolades.
Following his four-goal performance, Hogg now has 23 goals for the season along with a pair of assists for a total of 48 points. Hogg’s 23 goals sit second all-time on PBA’s single-season goals scored list.
Beyond his NCCAA All-Tournament recognition, Hogg has also recently been honored as the NCCAA South Region Player of the Year, a spot on the NCCAA All-Region team and his selection to the Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) first-team.
With no seniors set to graduate from this season’s team that finished 13-8-1, the Sailfish men’s soccer team should be poised to make another solid showing next year.
