Selethia Jackson Named ICAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio- The Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) named their weekly honorees for Player of the Week on Monday with Sailfish women’s basketball senior Selethia Jackson taking home the award for the first time. Jackson and her team put together an outstanding all-around week as they finished 3-0 including two wins at the NSU Thanksgiving Tournament and a big road victory at NCAA Division I, Bethune-Cookman University.
Jackson, a senior forward from Rivera Beach, Fla., averaged 13.67 points, eight rebounds and blocked 4.33 shots a game in leading her team to a 3-0 record. She had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 59-56 win over Bethune-Cookman while tallying 16 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots in a 63-57 win over Southwest Minnesota State.
The Sailfish currently stand at 4-3 on the season with Jackson leading the team in rebounding at 9.4 boards per game and second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per outing.
The Fish will host Valdosta State University on Saturday, December 3rd at 2 pm in the Rubin Arena.
