TIFFIN, Ohio- The annual Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) team was announced recently by director Mike Bond, as voted on by the member institutions and their Sports Information Directors. The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team, who is currently preparing for a title defense at the NCCAA National Tournament, had six players named to the All-ICAA first or second team.

The ICAA is composed of NCAA Division II schools that are not in a conference.  Men’s soccer members are Chowan University, Lindenwood University, Mary University, Notre Dame College, Oakland City University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Truman State University, Urbana University and Washington Adventist University.

Notre Dame College won all four individual awards in the annual listing that includes Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Freshman of the Year after finishing 19-0 on the season.

The six players named to the listing for Palm Beach Atlantic included three players on the first-team and three more on the second-team.

Sophomore striker Kenny Hogg, who has tallied 19 goals and two assists to date, was joined by junior defender Lewis Thompson and freshman defender Kendall Crouse on the All-ICAA first-team. Thompson and Crouse were both full-time starters in the defensive backfield for head coach Jose Gomez which have helped lead PBA to a 12-7 season record so far.

The three Sailfish players making the second team point to PBA’s bright future as freshmen AJ Black and Michael Emert were joined by sophomore defender Tyler Sanders. Black collected a team-best 12 assists while scoring one goal while Emert was second on the team in goals scored and points with nine goals while adding in four assists for a total of 22 points.

Sanders joins Thompson and Crouse as All-ICAA defenders from the PBA squad.
