CEDARVILLE, OHIO- The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s cross country team traveled north to Cedarville, Ohio on Saturday to compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship hosted by Cedarville University at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. Running amidst 50 degree weather with the sun shining the Sailfish would finish seventh as a team out of 25 competing institutions.
The Sailfish wrap up a terrific season that saw the team make solid strides all season long under first-year head coach Trish Butler.
Scoring a team total of 240 points, the Sailfish were paced on Saturday by three individuals who finished in the top-50 of the women’s 5,000 meter race that featured a total of 184 competitors.
Malone University took home the women’s team title with 59 total points as they bested California Baptist University (75 points), Indiana Wesleyan University (89 points), Roberts Wesleyan College (104 points) and Cedarville (140 points) to round out the top-five. Trinity Christian College finished just ahead of PBA in sixth place with 150 team points.
