Atanasov and Bolanos Scheduled to Meet in A Flight Finals at Panther Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s and women’s tennis teams continued their weekend matchups at the Panther Invitational on Saturday on the campus of Florida Tech. Singles action took place on Saturday after doubles was played on Friday. The finals of both sessions will be battled for on Sunday.
On the men’s side, Krasimir Atanasov will take on a familiar face in the A Flight Finals on Sunday when he battles teammate and doubles partner Luke Bolanos. Atanasov and Bolanos each won both of their matches on Saturday to reach the finals.
Guiseppe Guarnieri will also appear in the Finals of Flight B while Mick Lyons won his first match only to be defeated in his second to fall just short.
Nicholas Coburn lost his first match in the C Flight but came through with a win in his second match of the day. Jaime Verd split his decisions as PBA’s representative in the D Flight.

Lyons lost to J. Koonce (GSW) 5-7,2-6 and def. B. Levy (Eckerd) 6-0,6-0
Kalis lost to Durley (Eckerd) 1-6,7-6,4-10 and lost to M. Vansant (GSW) 0-6,1-6
Coburn lost to Nguyen (FT) 7-6,6-7,5-10 and def. B. Hill (Eckerd) 6-2,7-6
Verd def. Scafdi (Eckerd) 6-1,6-2 and then lost to Lorenz (FT) 0-6,1-6
