GREENVILLE, S.C.- After a six goal outburst over a two match span it came as little surprise that Palm Beach Atlantic University sophomore striker Kenny Hogg was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Player of the Week for the week of September 19-25 as announced by the NCCAA National Office. This is the second straight week a PBA student-athlete has been honored with the distinction after women’s soccer goalkeeper Allison Fox was selected last week.
A native of Irvine, Scotland, Hogg is in his first season playing for the Sailfish and has gotten off to a terrific start during his first seven matches of his career wearing the Blue and White.
Against Florida Southern College on Tuesday, Hogg tallied his first multi-goal match of the season as he helped lead the Fish to an impressive 4-1 home win over the Moccasins.
He would step up his game even further however on Saturday when he and his team traveled across the state to take on Eckerd College, another NCAA South Region opponent, in St. Petersburg. In this matchup Hogg would tally four goals, pushing his season total to nine scores to go along with one assist for a total of 19 points.
Hogg would score twice in each half before taking a seat on the bench after only 60 minutes of action as PBA went on to a 5-2 win and another key road regional victory.
The Sailfish men’s soccer team will be back in action this weekend when they head north to Florence, South Carolina to take on Francis Marion University at 3 pm on Saturday, October 1st.
