Women's Cross Country Moves Up Five Spots in the USTFCCCA Regional Ranking

NEW ORLEANS, La.- After week one of their season started this past Saturday at the University of Florida Mountain Dew Classic in Gainesville, Florida, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s cross country team saw their regional ranking by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) move quickly up five spots from tenth in the South Region to fifth.
The Sailfish finished 12th out of 19 teams at the UF Mountain Dew Classic but were second among NCAA Division II teams with fellow South Region representative Nova Southeastern University being the only Division II program finishing ahead of PBA.
The University of Tampa remains steady at the No. 1 South Regional ranking with Nova Southeastern staying put at No. 2. The University of West Florida flip flops with Florida Southern College at Nos. 3 and 4 respectively with Palm Beach Atlantic coming in at No. 5.
The remainder of the top ten remain steady as well with Delta State University (No. 6), the University of West Alabama (No. 7), Florida Tech (No. 8), Saint Leo University (No. 9) and the University of Alabama-Huntsville rounding out the listing at No. 10. No new teams made an appearance this week in the rankings.
Palm Beach Atlantic will hope to continue moving forward with their next meet scheduled for this Friday, September 30th at the Florida Runners Invitational in Titusville, Florida.
