Sailfish Continue Play at ITA Regional Tournament

VALDOSTA, Ga.- Battling some of the best competition NCAA Division II tennis has to offer at the annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) South Regional hosted by Valdosta State University, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s and women’s tennis teams continued their play in singles and doubles action. Senior Luke Bolanos on the men’s side and freshman Veena Vasquez remain alive in the singles backdraw while the #3-overall seed doubles tandem of Bolanos and Krasimir Atanasov remain in the hunt.

Bolanos and Atanasov proved worthy of their lofty seed as they defeated the University of West Florida’s Canineo and Mattos by a score of 8-3 to move on to the quarterfinals.

Bolanos also proved victorious on the singles side with 8-4, 8-1 game wins to move to the quarterfinals of the back draw in men’s singles.

Vasquez also won her singles backdraw match with a victory over Florida Southern College’s J. Dominguez to remain alive in the women’s singles backdraw.
