Tampa Spartans Down Sailfish At Home

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Despite a solid shooting effort, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s basketball team once again came away from Saturday night’s contest defeated by the University of Tampa by a final score of 79-56.
The Sailfish continued their recent stretch of shooting a high percentage from the field (45.7%) by connecting on 21-46 field-goals for the game, but once again their opponent came out on top by a considerable margin.
PBA was led in scoring by two upper-classmen in David Powell and Fitzroy Anthony who combined for 30 of the teams 56 points. Powell, a junior from Hollywood, Florida, came off the PBA bench for the first time all season and scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field in 27 minutes on the floor. Anthony tallied 12 points and three assists in 33 minutes of action.
The Spartans were led by a game-high 20 points from Jeremy Black who also registered 12 rebounds in the win. Black owned the interior against the Fish as he made 14 trips to the charity stripe while connecting on 12 free-throws. Rashad Callaway and Chris Evans both netted impressive performances as well with 17 and 16 points respectively.
PBA gets back in action on Monday, December 3rd, at 7 p.m. for their next contest when they take on Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida.
