Sailfish Women's Cross Country Ranked in the Preseason USTFCCCA Regional Poll

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the preseason regional rankings for the NCAA Division II season on Tuesday afternoon with the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s team included for the first time in program history. The Sailfish brought in the No. 7 regional ranking as they will begin their season on September 9th at the USF Open.

Led by returning NCAA All-American Meghan Gilmore, the Sailfish will begin their first season under the direction of head coach Trish Butler.

Other notable programs to earn regional rankings include defending regional champion, the University of Tampa holding steady at No. 1 followed by fellow Sunshine State Conference member, Nova Southeastern University at No. 2 in the rankings.

The No. 3-5 positions are occupied by members of the Gulf South Conference in the University of Alabama-Huntsville at No. 3, Delta State University at No. 4, and the University of West Alabama at No. 5. Florida

Florida Southern College sits one spot ahead of Palm Beach Atlantic at the No. 6 position.

Following PBA in the rankings is the University of West Florida at No. 8, Florida Tech at No. 9, and Clark Atlanta rounding out the top-10.
