WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- New women’s cross country coach Trish Butler announced on Wednesday the release of the meet schedule for the 2011 season for her first season in leading the Sailfish. A team who showed consistent improvement throughout last fall, the team is scheduled to run in four regular season meets during the fall and then also compete in potentially three postseason contests as well.

Senior Meghan Gilmore, the program’s first NCAA Division II All-American following her 10th place finish last season at the NCAA National Championships will headline a strong group of returners that are expected to include upperclassmen Faith Warren and Katherine Harvey in addition to some new faces as well.

The team will report to West Palm Beach in late August and begin preparations for their first competitive meet on September 9th when they will travel across the state of Florida to Tampa to compete in the University of South Florida Open on September 9th.

From there the squad will take to the running courses of the Mountain Dew Classic hosted by the University of Florida (Sept. 24) and the Florida Runners Invitational hosted in Titusville, Florida (Sept. 30) to close out the month of September.

The month of October will see the team run only one race but it presents the team with one of the toughest fields of the fall when they will participate in the Disney Invitational in central Florida on October 8th.

Postseason races begin with a trip to the NCAA Regional in Tampa on November 5th followed by additional racing opportunities on November 12th at the NCCAA National Championship in Cedarville, Ohio and the NCAA National Championship meet, this year scheduled for November 19th in Spokane, Washington.
