WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Welcoming in the Sharks from Nova Southeastern University on Saturday evening, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s basketball team once again struggled to keep up with their opponent in the second half as the Fish faltered down the stretch en route to a 84-66 defeat.

Trailing by only seven points at intermission (42-35), the Sailfish were unable to match the intensity or effectiveness of the Sharks players in the final 20 minutes as PBA closed the gap to 60-66 before watching NSU pull away down the stretch.

Sophomore Jonathan Lawrence paced the Sailfish offensive attack in their contest versus the Sharks as he posted totals of 16 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals as the 6’4” guard connected on 7-14 shots from the field while playing 34 minutes. Junior Manny Lopez, out of San Juan Puerto Rico, paced the Fish with 19 points including doing most of his damage from the free-throw line by going 9-10.

Despite some struggles with his shot by tallying a shooting total of 4-15 on the night, senior point guard Fitzroy Anthony reached double-figures with 14 points while also dishing out a team-high six assists.

Using a balanced attack all night long, the Sharks posted all five starters in double-figures including a team-leading 21 points from forward Tim Coenraad who also posted seven boards.

Up next on the 2007 slate of games for PBA is Barry University on Wednesday, November 28th at 7:00 p.m.
