WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Although the Sailfish men’s tennis team would find success at the top of both doubles and singles on Monday afternoon at Gaines Park, it wouldn’t be enough to swing a victory as Tufts University held on for a 6-3 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The loss drops PBA to 10-8 on the season as the Fish won’t play again until Saturday, March 26th.
Junior Krasimir Atanasov proved once again to be strong in doubles and singles as he along with junior teammate Luke Bolanos posted an 8-4 win at #1-doubles while also managing an easy 6-1, 6-1 win at #1-singles.
Bastian Guenther, a PBA graduate student, made good work at #2-singles as well with the veteran Guenther coming back from a 4-6 loss in the opening set to put together a 6-3, 6-1 win at #2-singles.
Although Bolanos and Alex Minicozzi would battle tough at #3 and #4-singles respectively they would fall in three sets to their Tufts counterparts.
