MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Sailfish women’s soccer team dominated the field at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) South Regional this weekend as they closed out their second consecutive region championship with a 5-0 win over Southeastern University as they will once again represent the South Region at the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida in early December.

Senior Angie Kuhn did as she has done all season which has been leading the Sailfish offensive attack. The North Fort Myers, Florida native tallied a hat trick with two goals in the first-half and another in the second-half as PBA scored early and often.

Sophomore Ashley Shoaf got her team on the board before the scoreboard could hit two minutes into the game as she connected for a goal past the effort of a sliding SU goalkeeper.

Kuhn produced her first goal on an assist from sophomore Juliet Waller in the fifth minute to put PBA up 2-0 in the first five minutes of the game.

The Fire defense would then settle down until Kuhn struck again in the 36th minute on a breakaway opportunity that saw the Sailfish forward place her second score in easily.

Sophomore Gabby Lopez would make it four goals in the first half just 45 seconds before the halftime horn would sound as she took a shot to the inside post from the box that made the score 4-0 entering halftime.

PBA outshot Southeastern 13-6 in the opening period.

The second-half would feature a slow-down approach by PBA as Southeastern would even the shots at 7-7 in the second-half.

Kuhn tallied the only goal of the half for either team on a Andrea Jefferson assist that closed out the scoring in the 72nd minute.

Allison Fox posted the shutout in goal for PBA as they also dominated in corner kick opportunities at 6-0.

PBA will now await what seed they will receive for the upcoming NCCAA National Tournament on December 2-4.
