Gilmore Advances to NCAA National Meet with Third Place Finish at South Regional

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- Palm Beach Atlantic University junior runner Meghan Gilmore is in the busy of making history. Not only is she the first PBA cross country runner to earn an individual national title at the NCCAA National Championship but she has now advanced to the NCAA National Championship with a third-place finish on Saturday at the South Regional. Needing a top-five finish to join the best crop of runners in all of NCAA Division II, Gilmore completed her 6K race in third-place to move onward.

Gilmore finished the 6K race with a time of 21:29 which put her behind the University of Tampa’s Heather Nicolosi (20:50) and the University of Alabama-Huntsville’s Jeniffer Cherono (21:23) for the regional title. The trio of runners were the class of the race with fourth-place going to Tampa’s Lindsey Edwards at 21:58.

With a busy past two weekends of traveling to Cedarville, Ohio and then to Huntsville, Alabama, Gilmore will have one more buys stretch the following week as she will travel to Louisville, Kentucky for the NCAA Division II Championship.
