WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Hoping to stir up some local excitement about the three college basketball programs in Palm Beach County, Northwood University hosted the first annual Men’s College Basketball Season Forecast Media Day at the de Hoernle Student Life Center on Thursday afternoon. The hour long session featured statements from Palm Beach Atlantic’s own head coach Terry Primm as well as Northwood Universities Rollie Massimino and Florida Atlantic Universities Mike Jarvis.

Local media outlets including ESPN 760 for radio as well as television outlets such as Channel 12 in West Palm Beach were on hand to be a part of the first-time event involving the trio of Palm Beach County programs which each represent a different level of collegiate athletics.

Northwood University is set to begin its fifth campaign under legendary head coach Rollie Massimino as a NAIA Division II program while PBA and FAU both represent the NCAA including Divisions II and I respectively.

Coach Massimino gave the opening remarks as he welcomed the local media outlets as well as distinguished guests including the Northwood University Provost who also greeted those in attendance.

From that point each coach was presented an opportunity to address the media about their teams and the upcoming season schedule.

Primm was offered the opportunity to speak first as he first thanked the Northwood community and Coach Massimino for the opportunity to be a part of the first-time event. He would go on to compliment the NU program and how the PBA-NU matchups are always one that present a great challenge.

He also spoke about the five-year plan of PBA men’s basketball and how moving forward can be a challenge but one that he has always looked to do with character.

The Sailfish men’s basketball team is scheduled to officially open their season on Friday, November12th as they host the Sailfish Classic Tournament in West Palm Beach.
