PBA Men's Cross Country Collects Top-10 Finish at Stetson Hatters Invitational

DELAND, Fla.- With the regular season winding down, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s cross country team appears to be hitting their stride as they placed eighth as a team on Friday at the Stetson University Hatters Invitational. Freshman Justin Mikesell continued to lead the team as individual as he placed 50th in the competitive field.
Top-notch NAIA program Embry-Riddle University took home the team title at this years Stetson University Hatters Invitational with a team total of 32 points followed by the University of Miami with 53 points and Florida Atlantic University with 86 points. The Fish finished in eighth place overall with a team total of 259 points.
Mikesell completed the men’s 8K race in a time of 29:25 to lead all Sailfish competitors. Fellow freshman Chris Lopez followed next for the Sailfish with a time of 30:19 to complete his race in 61st place. Seemingly one-after-the-other, the remainder of PBA’s runners completed the race in close times. Nick Joseph finished at 30:30 (64th), while Kyle Mason and Andrew Rodberg finished at 30:47 and 31:02 respectively.
Seniors Kyle Pryce and Brad Treen were up next with times of 31:44 and 32:41.
With postseason coming up in a few weeks, the Sailfish cross country teams will be training hard to finish out the 2010 season with a bang. Stay tuned to pbasailfish.com for more results of upcoming meets.
