BOCA RATON, Fla.- Keeping their program win-streak alive versus the Sailfish men’s soccer team, Lynn University would once again come out on top between the two Palm Beach County soccer rivals with a 5-0 win on Thursday afternoon at the McCusker Sports Complex in Boca Raton. Behind three goals and an assist from senior Kyle Conrad, the LU men’s soccer team handed the Fish their fourth loss of the season as they cruised to the 5-0 win.
A senior from Jensen Beach, Florida, Conrad is closing out a fantastic career in a LU uniform as he approaches rapidly the 100 point career total in the LU uniform. He was once again dynamic on Thursday as he took six shots including three that found the back of the net.
LU midfielder Robert Carrick would get the scoring started for the Knights in the 9th minute off a Scott McCubbin cross that found the head of Carrick who neatly place the ball in for what would be the game-winner.
From there it became the Conrad show as he would tally goals in the 36th minute, 72nd minute, and 76th minute to reach 11 goals on the season. He would then add an assist on the Fighting Knights final score of the afternoon with a pass to teammate Ewan Clarke who found the back of the net to cap the scoring at 5-0.
The Knights outshot PBA by 17-8 mark including 10-4 in the first-half while also holding a commanding 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
The Sailfish will look to rebound and get back in the win column for their next outing as they will host another Palm Beach County rival in Northwood University on Saturday, October 16th for a 2 pm showdown at Magic Jack Field.
