WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Dominating for nearly the entire match, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team stopped a recent two-match skid with a solid 7-2 victory over South Dakota State University on Wednesday evening at the South Olive Tennis Center.
Winning two of three doubles matches including number one doubles by Lina Rubiano (Wellington, Fla.) and Natalie Aleman (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio) to the tune of an 8-1 final, the Lady Fish had no problem earning their eighth win of the season. They also improved over the .500 mark with a season record of now 8-7.
South Dakota managed just one win in the singles portion of the match with Ashley Waltman defeating Katie Livesay (Dayton, Tenn.) in singles number five. Aleman presented the most dominating effort in singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at singles number three over Maggie Peters.
