WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Making it the third Sailfish athletic event in the past 24 hours to be canceled due to the tropical depression crashing on the South Florida coast, Wednesday’s women’s soccer match scheduled for play at Florida Tech has been halted. With dangerous traveling conditions as well as potentially poor playing conditions on the field, the two programs agreed to reschedule for another day.

With the two Athletic Director’s mutually agreeing to play another day, the Sailfish and Panthers coaching staffs will begin working on a potential new date for a makeup contest.

The Sailfish women’s soccer team is off to a tremendous start with a 6-2 mark through the first portion of the season including coming off a sweep of the University of South Carolina-Aiken and North Greenville University in neutral site matches in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend.

The Fish will now begin preparations for their next match which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6th versus Flagler College in another neutral site contest slated to be played in Melbourne, Florida.
