Division III Power Wheaton College Too Much for PBA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Welcoming in Wheaton College on Tuesday afternoon at the South Olive Tennis Center, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team battled hard but couldn’t quite overtake the nationally-ranked WC squad as the visitors reigned victorious at 7-2 over the Sailfish.

Ranked 18th in the latest NCAA Division III national rankings, Wheaton jumped all over the Fish with three consecutive victories in the doubles portion of the match before earning a pair of victories in singles play.

Montserrat Ripoll and Natalie Aleman were PBA’s victors at singles #2 and #3 respectively with Ripoll defeating Shannon Hale 6-0, 6-1 while Aleman earned her victory by tallying a 6-1, 6-0 win.
