DELRAY BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team traveled south on Interstate-95 on Saturday afternoon to have the privilege of playing at the Delray Beach Tennis Center against cross-town rival Northwood University. Despite some chances late in the match, the Sailfish were unable to topple the Seahawks as they prevailed 5-4 to break the Sailfish recent win streak.

Ranked #14th in the NAIA national women’s tennis poll, Northwood came back after dropping two of three flights in doubles as Lina Rubiano and Natalia Trotter earned a very close 9-8 (2) win at #1-doubles while #3-doubles duo of Jordan Ittersagen and Krishna Domenech earned an 8-3 win to put PBA up 2-1 heading into singles competition.

Ittersagen and Domenech came out on top in the bottom half of the singles portions with dominant wins at #5 and #6 respectively however the top four singles rounds went to Northwood. Rubiano and Amber Braaten went to three sets but unfortunately came out on the losing end.
