MELBOURNE, Fla.- Taking their second straight neutral site match, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team once again played well enough to earn a victory in Melbourne on Thursday afternoon as they handed Concordia University (Minn.) an 8-1 defeat. The lopsided win came with PBA winning two close doubles matchups and some hard fought singles for their third win of the 2010 campaign.
The only loss on the day came for PBA at #1-doubles as Krasimir Atanasov and Luke Bolanos were narrowly defeated 9-8 by the Concordia duo of Edin and Johnson.
Newcomer Alex Minicozzi along with veteran returnee Tyler Dealy finished off a dominating performance at #2-doubles with an 8-0 sweep while Corey Kuglin and Nick Hines held on for a 9-8 (5) win at #3-doubles.
The Sailfish singles portion was not as closely tested with Concordia forcing only one three-set game at #6-singles as Hines fought back for a 6-2, 6-7 (1), 10-0 win.
