PBA Ladies Make it Two in a Row with Victory Over Concordia University

MELBOURNE, Fla.- Now winners of two matches in a row, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team defeated Concordia University (Minn.) on Thursday afternoon in a neutral site match in Melbourne. The Sailfish women’s team cruised to a 9-0 win as no matchup went more than two sets. PBA is now 2-4 on the season.

Lina Rubiano and Natalie Trotter combined for a dominating doubles showing at #1-doubles with an 8-1 win followed by an 8-2 victory for Natalie Aleman and Amber Braaten at #2-doubles. Freshman Jordan Ittersagen and junior Krishna Domenech closed out the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win at #3-doubles.

Rubiano and Aleman, the two most experienced players on this year’s team for head coach Chi Ly, dominated their singles outings at 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 respectively. Trotter and Braaten were nearly as dominant with 6-0, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-3 wins each while Ittersagen and Domenech closed out the sweep in singles.
