Men's Tennis Opens Season with Dominating Match Victory Over Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team opened the 2010 regular season on Saturday in fine fashion with a solid 8-1 victory over Saint Leo University on the road amidst chilly and very windy conditions. Wind gusts in excess of 20 miles per hour greeted the teams in the early February match on the west coast of Florida.
Sophomores Krasi Atanasov and Luke Bolanos continued where they left off as freshmen from a year ago by leading the team at the #1-doubles spot and #1 and #3 singles positions.
The duo teamed up for an 8-3 win at #1 doubles while Atanasov defeated his counterpart Jacobs 6-1, 7-5 at #1-singles while Bolanso was pushed even harder by his #3-singles opponent by a score of 7-6 (3), 6-2.
Northwood University (Mich.) transfer Alex Minicozzi came away with a #2-singles win for PBA in his debut by a score of 7-5, 7-6 (0).
