Florida Tech Women's Tennis Too Strong for Lady Fish in Season Opener

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The 2010 women’s tennis regular season opened on Wednesday afternoon at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach as the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis squad hosted 25th ranked Florida Tech in the season opener for both teams. Despite some solid doubles and singles efforts by the Lady Fish, the Panthers prevailed by a final tally of 9-0.

Two of the singles games went three sets each as FIT #1-singles player Lina Rubiano pushed Abby Grief of FIT to a 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 winner in singles #1 while Krishna Domenech pushed Abbey Keister to a 3-6, 6-1, 10-4 win in singles #6 with the FIT player once again coming out on top.

FIT prevailed in doubles action 8-2, 8-2, and 8-3 with freshman Jordan Ittersagen and Domenech teaming up for the best effort of doubles action in the 8-3 loss at #3 doubles.
