PBA Baseball Set to Open Season Versus Lynn University at Roger Dean Stadium

Written By: Michael Brown, Assistant A.D. for Athletic Communications

JUPITER, Fla.- Although thunderstorms played havoc on plans to host last season's baseball home opener at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, the Palm Beach Atlantic University baseball team will give it another try in 2011 as the Fish will welcome in Lynn University on Tuesday, February 1st at 6 pm. The game is free and open to the public and will feature the two Palm Beach County rivals each suiting up for the first official game of the new season at one of the top minor league ballparks in the country at Roger Dean Stadium.

The Sailfish are under the direction of second-year head coach and Major League Baseball Hall-of-Famer Gary Carter as the Fish are coming off a 17-win campaign in his first season managing the Sailfish squad. The Lynn University Fighting Knights are coming off a 16-37-1 season in 2010 after claiming the program's first NCAA Division II National Championship in 2009 under head coach Rudy Garbalosa.

The Fish and the Knights battled five times last season with Palm Beach Atlantic coming out on the winning side four out of the five games.
