Women's cross country signs NCAA Div. I runner
August 1, 2006
While at Toledo, Tittle ran in 13 meets throughout her freshman and sophomore years. She recorded her best 5,000-meter time at the Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ky. on Oct. 16, 2005 with a time of 18:05 (17th place).
Tittle's career best time of 18:05 would have tied her for fourth place in the 2005 National Christian College Athletic Association's (NCCAA) National Championship meet. She'll have a chance to win the NCCAA championship when the Sailfish travel to the meet on Nov. 11, which takes place in Cedarville, Ohio - a mere 180 miles from her hometown. In regards to joining the Sailfish cross country team, Tittle said, "I am grateful for the opportunity to run at PBA." She continues, "I'm looking forward to continuing my successful running career while having the chance to grow closer to Christ."
Coach Chi Ly couldn't agree with Tittle more. "I'm confident that Alison will be a great leader on our team," notes Ly. "We're excited for her to join us and run not only to win races, but for the ultimate prize of God's glory."
The women's cross country season will begin on Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Sharks Invitational, hosted by Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
