CEDARVILLE, Ohio- After having not competed in just under a month’s time, it could have been easy for the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s and women’s cross country teams to take it easy the past few weeks in preparation for their final meet of the season at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships, but the teams stood strong and closed things out on a positive note.
Under the leadership of first-year head coach Bob White and competing on the campus of Cedarville University in Ohio, both teams showed promise for future seasons while also improving individually as the season progressed according to White.
“We had four season-best personal records today so we accomplished a lot of what we had worked towards this year,” said White.
“We feel like we have built a solid foundation for future growth in the seasons to come,” said White who also acts as PBA’s full-time Athletic Director.
The men’s team was paced by Matthew Lorton who came away with a season best 31:38 in the men’s 8K while helping lead his team to a 22nd place finish overall in the field and a personal finish of 126th.
Next came senior Kyle Pryce who closed out his PBA running career in fine form with a time of 31:52 which placed him 130th overall. Following Pryce was Brad Treen at 33:02 and freshman Kyle Mason at 33:04. Stephan Tucker rounded out the PBA scoring runs with a 140th finish at 38:15.
