Laura Bowers selected to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

The award, which is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) is given to student-athletes who are a starter or key reserve on their respective team. The athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
“Laura works just has hard off the soccer field as she does on it,” said women’s soccer coach Dwayne Whiteheart. “Every day of the week, she is working to make each day better than the last – in soccer, in class and in life.”
Bowers, a sophomore from Lakeland, Fla., is majoring in Pre-Pharmacy at PBA and is maintaining a cumulative GPA of 4.00. The sophomore scored 19 goals and had three assists to tally 41 points this season.
