PBA Basketball Welcomes in Students and Fans for Meet the Sailfish Event

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- With the basketball season openers just around the corner, the Palm Beach Atlantic University athletic department will be hosting a “Meet the Sailfish” event on Friday, November 13th at the Rubin Arena. A pep-rally style event that is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start is open to the public and will involve student contests, including a three-point contest and will conclude with an exciting dunk contest featuring members of the men’s basketball squad.
The evening is slated to begin with a barbeque-style meal hosted by Sodexho in front of the Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by a Sub-Eating Contest in front of the Rubin Arena sponsored by Jimmy Johns. Any student interested in participating can try their hand at being the first to down a JJ’s famous Gargantuan Sub with other prizes throughout the evening.
A five-on-five contest featuring the PBA Intramural Championship team will take on a Faculy/Staff All-Star game with more prizes on the on the line.
Other activities include a “Beat the Fish” 3-point contest for women, men, and college players as well as full introductions of the two PBA varsity teams. Both teams will then follow up with two 10-minute scrimmages followed by the men’s dunk contest to close out the night.
